Hi AFMG Team and everyone in the forum,

I would like to ask about the possibility and recommended workflow for modeling an acoustically transparent dome screen in EASE 5.

My goal is to create a 16-meter-diameter dome screen inside a cinema model, with an acoustic transparency / open area of approximately 20–30%.
I would like to understand whether this can be realistically implemented in EASE 5, and what the proper method would be.

Below is the workflow I am currently considering, but I am not sure whether it is possible:

1. Create the physical 3D dome screen directly in EASE, or import it from a third-party 3D modeling software.
2. Use SoundFlow to create a custom perforated material.
3. Assign this custom perforated material to the dome screen model in EASE

Would this workflow allow me to simulate an acoustically transparent dome screen in EASE 5?

In addition, loudspeakers will be placed behind the dome screen.

What I would like to evaluate in EASE is the acoustic result after sound from the loudspeakers passes through the acoustically transparent dome screen
and reaches the audience area, located approximately 10 meters in front of the screen.

Specifically, I would like to understand:

1. The frequency response experienced by the audience after the sound passes through the dome screen
2. The SPL distribution in the audience area
3. Whether EASE can properly account for the transmission loss / attenuation caused by the acoustically transparent dome screen
4. The reflection and scattering behavior when sound from the loudspeakers behind the dome screen strikes the perforated screen surface

Could anyone please advise whether this approach is possible in EASE 5, and if not, what alternative workflow would be recommended?

Thanks a lot.
