TLDR;
I don't want to be interrupted every 5 min to make another combination.

The issue:
Combing loudspeakers can not be defined before doing the calculation.
In a large model with lots of zones/alternatives/scenarios, combining loudspeakers after the calculation one by one is... inefficient.

Example:
Lets say I'm modeling a church.
We have 2 speakers, a Left Right system, and an additional speaker which is a TalkBox.

From this I want 4 mappings:
1. Left speaker
2. Right speaker
3. Left + Right speaker
4. TalkBox

I do an AURA simulation, takes 30 minutes to calculate with all 3 speakers.
Then I combine map 1 (only one speaker) wait 5 minutes.
Then combine map 2 (one speaker again) wait 5 minutes.
Then combine map 3 (two speakers this time) wait 5 minutes.
Then combine map 4 one speaker) wait 5 minutes.

I have now used 30 simulating and 20 minutes combining speakers, instead of looking at and analyzing results.
This inefficiency gets a lot worse when adding more scenarios/alternatives.

If I could define the loudspeaker combinations beforehand I could:
- press calculate, go to lunch, come back to results after an hour.

My proposed Solution:
Allow defining loudspeaker combination before calculation.
Use flags(checkboxes) for overwriting results or creating new files with datetime appendixes.

Additional context:
I've got lots of powerful computers in order to speed all of the AURA simulations up, but powerful computers are most efficient if they don't require human intervention every 5 min.

Mabey something like the calculation kernel in SoundPlan is a good place to get inspiration.
There I can set my computer to calculate 400 different scenarios and come back 3 days later to look at results.

Edit:

The durations in my post are exaggerated, but they are definitely possible for larger models.

I don't quite understand why I would send feature request to support.
I would like to have discourse on the feature request with other users of EASE in addition to AFMG staff.
Is that not what the forum is for?

Here we can also discuss workarounds and workflows, which would be hard to do via email.

Hi Christian,

sorry for my brief and misleading comment.

Of course you can always post your wishes and suggestions in the forum.
This is even a good way to exchange experiences with other users.
As soon as feature requests require detailed coordination or additional information about projects or images, for example, so that we can categorise the feature requests in detail, it would be a suitable way to coordinate these via email communication.

Best Regards
