I just spent a long time in CAD building a room with line segments and arches. However, EASE 5FE is telling me none of it as able to be imported because it only converts POLYlines. So I converted all my line segments to polylines. Except now EASE says that each polyline must be at least 3 points. Is there really no way to import CAD that uses normal lines?

Hi Logandodson,

EASE 5-FE indeed does not support all types of elements available in the DWG format.
Please have a look at the informaiton here to know more about which elements are supported so you can best built a room in a third-party CAD tool:

EASE 5 (at least v5.57 and earlier) doesn't support lines imported from AutoCAD. Similarly, the concept of "edge" from EASE 4 does not exist. What options, if any, does AFMG suggest to represent important visual or geometric elements in a model that are important to see for visual reference, but do not have any (or negligible) acoustical effects? These are things such as lines on a gymnasium floor, open web trusses in spaces with exposed structure, lines on an athletic field, etc.

EASE 5 allows loading background images. This is what Ana and I use instead of importing or drawing edges to show the background details we need to assist in placement and/or visualization.
