Hi,

I’m working on a university project aimed at acoustic of orchestra pit in theatre.

I’d like to briefly evaluate current ratio between orchestra in pit and singers on stage - just to get an idea.

For simulating only orchestra I used sphere source with spl of 90 dB.

I found speaker model named human, which seems useful, I’m just bit unsure with its power..?

Thanks for any recommendations or notes to my intended measurement

Filip

Hi,
if you want to investigate some room acoustic parameters I would suggest you to read some articles by O'Keefe:

https://scholar.google.pl/scholar?hl=pl&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=o%27keefe+sound+pit&btnG=

or maybe some of mine:

https://content.sciendo.com/view/journals/aoa/42/3/article-p515.xml

You have to be carefully with sound source placed in a covered pit or with high barrier, caused the EASE do not take to account diffraction phenomenon

To make relably auralization you have to set values for sources in post processing when you will listen it. You have to keep in mind that conductor make the music and tha balance of orchestra and a singer!
