			| | Hi guys,
I'm doing an outdoor area and I'm inserting a number of oil tanks using "Insert", "Create Shape 3D". How can I quickly change the surface material of the inserted shape?

			| | Hi Charles There are differents ways to do that.
When creating the shape, you can check the "Create Object" option:

Then, you will see an icon that represents the object created. Click on it and all the faces of the cylinder will be selected:

Then, right click, Properties (or press F4) and you will enter into the Object properties. There you can set a name to your object and in "Edit" you can set the materiales for all the faces:

Then, you can displace and duplicate the object (cylinder) wherever you want

If you do not want to re-draw all of your cylinders, you can also create the object (or objects, depending of your needs):

Set the x-view (press X) or the Y-view (press Y) and go to "Mouse > Activate items" and select all the faces of the cylinder:

Then, go to "Insert > Create Object" and all the activated faces will be grouped in that object and then you can change the materials as I said before

The Create Object option is very a useful tool to "group" faces. It also works for speakers, seats, lines, vertexs...

 Regards,
