I need to apply a perforated panel with an acoustic blanket behind. Can someone explain me how I can apply/define a perforated panel in Ease?

Dear Elisabete,

Materials and panels applied to surfaces are modeled in EASE by their absorption coefficients. Either the material you wan't is included in the database that comes with EASE, or you can add your own materials to the base. For that you will probably need the absorption data from third parties, institutions, books.

The module used to create new materials is the EASE Material Base.

Kind Regards,

Thanks Pedro Lima.

But imagine, in the case of a perforated ceiling, if I want to add, for example, an acoustic blanket, I must draw an overlay surface to the perforated panel with the characteristics of the acoustic absorption blanket? Confused

Kind Regards,

Dear Elisabete,
You have to replace the old material ("EASE-material" in the face-property window) of the whole old construction (e.g. perforated panel in distance x under the concrete ceiling) with the new material of the whole new construction (e.g. perforated panel in distance x with a layer of Your sound-absorbing material under the concrete ceiling).
EASE doesn't calculate the absorption coefficients of a construction, You have to know it. And then define Your material as Pedro wrote.

Kind Regards
Thomas

You can also use SoundFlow to generate coefficients for custom material structures.
