| We have a Gateway with Firewire interface that worked well with out old XP laptops that had Firewire interfaces built in, However now we have upgraded all our laptops to W7 64 bit, and only have USB ports on them and the Presonus Gateway is unusable. So we are looking for a low-cost USB interface with only 1 or 2 channels in and 1 or 2 channels out that works with EASERA. We would like them to be as small and lightweight as possible, and powered by the USB port in order to be fully battery operated and portable, with the laptop running on battery power if at all possible.
What is available for sale in North America that would work for us? |

| Hi Claude,
I use the MOTU Microbook II for when I want a small device. I think it meets all of your criteria. If you use battery mics like the Earthworks M30BX, it's a three-channel measurement box, using the "guitar" input as a loop back. (Though IR stability seems quite good even using the output as the reference.)
Be sure to use the ASIO drivers.

| Thanks Jim. I remember now that was one of the interfaces you had mentioned, but I had forgotten the model. Looks like it does tick all the boxes for a small, light, portbale USB interface. I have just now ordered one.
