Hello Guys,

I'm trying to import a dxf file for EASE 4.3.
I read the manual and the tutorial, but still can not see the layers that I created.

My dxf file Layers:
0 (is the one that appears)
CONCRETE R
CONCRETE S

only 3d faces

What I'm doing:
Added CONCRETE R, CONCRETE S to the database project.
They are the only materials present for simplicity.

I open EASEIMEX> import dxf / skp
"Waste of time project1?": YES
"Waste Speaker / Material base?": NO

I choose the file.
I leave all the default options.
I can see all the faces and lines but appears only layer 0.

I've tried for the names of layers:
EASE CONCRETE R
EASE-$CONCRETE R

What am I forgetting?

Thanks

Alia!
If you're running the latest 4.3.9.XX version, you should be seeing an "Assign Wall Material" pop up box after importing the .dxf into the IMEX module. From here you can choose materials from your material base.

But let's take a step back - back to the DXF file. The layer names you have first indicated are good and should import into IMEX.
I'm just wondering if you've drawn your 3d Faces on one of these layers or are they still on layer 0. Did you have all the layers turned on in AutoCAD before you saved the DXF? IMEX will only import the active layers in a DXF, unless you've ticked the "Read 'off' and 'frozen' layers" option.

FWIW, I find that drawing entities in AutoCAD as polylines give me more reliable results when importing to EASE files than 3D Faces.
I've also found that saving the DXF drawing in AutoCAD 2000 format before exporting works better for me.

Hope this helps a little
Regards
