| I find myself needing to purchase a new laptop and in researching what is out there I am finding that apparently USB 2.0 and 3.0 as well as eSATA are the new standards and not only FireWire ports but also CardBus and Express card slots are no longer included on many laptops. Most of the new laptop models also seem to come with some version of Windows 7. These factors seem to make compatibility with my EASERA Gateway a challenge. If I have to purchase a new interface I would like to get one that also supports multi-channel operation with SysTune.
Are there any recommended audio interfaces that are compatible with EASERA, Windows 7 and the ports commonly available on these new laptops? Has anyone tried the Roland Octa-Capture?
Thanks for any recommendations! |

| Hi Brad,
The soon to be released Aubion X.8 should work well for you. It interfaces with the PC via Ethernet connector. It has 8 inputs (4 mic pre & 4 line level) & 2 outputs. |

| Charlie, I saw the prototype unit at InfoComm 2009 and it looked promising, the one catch is that I will probably need something fairly soon. I know how things sometimes go in getting a product from concept to reality but the X.8 seems to have been 'coming soon' for two years now, is there any firm date for availability and an estimated price? |

| Hello Brad,
RME has great selections of soundcard. I have used Fireface 400 and Babyface for measurement purposes. You may need to spend 1-2 hours to learn on how their matrix system work (monitoring). The driver and hardware are really good, always responsive and very minimum crash/undetected. I suggest you take a look at RME Babyface. It has EQ, Delay, and compressor built in too. It is a very powerful soundcard.

| Hi all,
the AUBION X.8 should be shipping by the end of next month. We are in the process of refining the GUI and writing the manual.
