how can i know the best SPL dB for a room?

I would like to know what is the best SPL dB range for a room ,I am working now on a project for a restaurent and i've just started learning EASE 4.2 , and i need a hand in this project , could anyone help me ?

and the other Question that i use proel loudspeaker but unfortionatly the Part # does not exist in EASE database , how can i get it ?
I sent to proel but they replied to me that most of italian ppl takes their vacations in August so i have to wait Confused

Generally for Direct SPL predictions, a range of + or - 3dB for 90% of the seats or better is desired. Obviously the frequency range over which this is maintained would differ depending on the type of venue, a performing arts center would need even coverage over a much broader frequency range than a warehouse paging system.

Also note that Total SPL should not be used to predict coverage as it's very possible that the worse coverage is, the more even Total SPL will look.

Having said all that, it would be a very rare restaurant that would have a background music system that offered this level of performance and a range of + or - 5 or 6 dB would be more common.

Regarding your question about Proel, they have submitted EASE data and it is included in the latest EASE database. Start EASE and Select Help > Update EASE to update the database.

Thank you very much Jim , but when i do mapping i get SPL dB in the range 70 to 100 approximatly you know the red,green,blue etc.. how can i get the dB between 3-+ to know the coverage , i've read the manual but i have'nt gotten this case thats why am asking, could you please help me ?

Well, 70 - 100 dB is a 30 dB range, so your DSPL coverage is + or - 15 dB. If you click on the Distribution tab in the View Calculation window, you can see the percentage at each SPL value.

The easy solution to your problem is to use more loudspeakers. Very Happy

aha thanks alot man Smile ok for example if i have DSPL between 100 and 90 in frequancy 1000 hz so its in a 10 range , so the DSPL coveraget + or - 5 ?! but wn i look at the map its 75% in red range and the rest is blue and green , is this comfortable ? and what is the best range ?
