My understanding is that split time is basically the split between what you want to be included in Direct vs Reverberant sound. I guess that's related to the Haas effect.

I guess what I meant was that it is implausible to think a 1/3 Octave graphic eq can flatten the reponse of a loudspeaker with peaks and valleys in narrowband.
