Hi Stefan/Bruce,

One of my models is showing a negative/close-to-zero reverb time.
I am aware that this happens when the room's faces are inside out but please note that this is not the case.
It is an open room and the face orientation seems to be correct.
I can't seem to get my head around it.
Would appreciate if you could look at my packed project file.
Thanks!

Varun,

for open rooms EASE cannot properly calculate the room volume. This is so because an open room does not have a closed boundary by definition. Accordingly the RT is wrong until you enter the room volume manually.

A workaround is closing open rooms for simulation purposes. Create the missing surfaces and make them 100% absorbing. You could also do this just temporarily to estimate the room volume.

But this method should be used with care. In the extreme, if you look at an open field, it does not make sense to estimate an RT this way.
