Hi,

I bought Ease with Aura a few weeks ago, installed it on my old Mac Mini (2.53, Intel Core Duo) running bootcamp/windows 7. Everything is working fine;-)) but slow....

To get things done faster I would like to work either - preferably - on my MacBook Pro (2.0 GHz i7 Quad-core, 15" Retina, 8 GB, 256 SSD) or on my trusty
"Musicmachine" Mac Pro (2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 32 GB, lots of HDs for ProTools/Logic).

The internet is full of contradictive opinions about the speed and reliability of the different virtual systems like bootcamp, parallels, vm or virtual box.

Could anybody please share some hands-on experience with similar systems?

Thanx!
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

I use Ease and Aura on Mac with parallel desktop Win10.

My computer is a Mac i7 3.8 Ghz 8 cores with 16 GB of ram used only for calculations.

On this computer I was able to compare between a real Window 10 & a parallel desktop.

On large calculations (huge stadium type) I noticed an increase in calculation time of about 10 to 15%, in the worst case 20%. It's quite variable and difficult to quantify, but quite acceptable to me.

On smaller rooms (and lighter calculations), differences are, in my opinion, negligible.
