I am using the ray tracing movies and discovered that the SPL colors are only active until the rays reach a bounding surface. Is there a way of disabling this. I am interested in the SPL of the rays after they reflect.

Over here it looks fine. Maybe you can check:
- Are you sure the loss color is not close to the background color?
- Have done a ray tracing simulation high order > 2?
- Are you sure you can see clearly? It can be really nasty to see the reflected rays with a lot of points on the screen. You can try to pause and wipe the room right after the first hit to be able to see it coming back.

Best way to check the reflected ray characteristics is through the "Ray" tab and "info" table, where you can actually see the SPL and loss values for each hit.

If you are still not sure, you can send me the project and ray tracing file: pedro.lima at afmg dot eu

Kind Regards,
Pedro

Dear Kent,

Thanks for your feedback. You are right. Indeed, after hitting the first Face the ray color is reverted to the background color. If you increase the ray (point) size you'are able to see the rays bouncing the room, while not using the correct colors.

That look's like a bug. We will have to work on that, OK?

Thank you for your time. I will let you know here whenever this gets fixed.

Kind Regards,
Pedro

Thanks Pedro,

Looking forward to the bug fix. It might be worth including a check box that keeps the functionality as is (for sound system coverage analysis) and another option that continues to show the ray levels after reflection (for acoustics studies and closer inspection of sound system echos).

Thanks for your help.
Kent

But then all you need is making a ray tracing simulation with 1st order rays only Wink
