Road traffic noise simulation

Hi all,

I would like to simulate the traffic road noise on a long open structure. I do not know how to proceed to modelize the sound source :

- My first idea was to use the background noise for the simulation

- My second one was to use the standard spherical loudspeaker from ease, and to do a line of speakers until I have the same SPL with my measure.

Someone already did this kind of simulation? What could you advice to proceed?

Thanks for your help,

Regards,

Guillaume

I tried with a line of spherical loudspeakers, it seems to work well. I just had some troubles due to the high of the speakers; they should be below the audience area (the road is below the plateform) but EASE do not seems to accept this.

If you have an idea to be closer to the reality...?

Thanks,

Guillaume

I have used a bunch of spherical speakers for similar studies and the results I got were consistent with measurements and other studies performed by different means so your approach can produce meaningful data.

I am having trouble visualizing your model but in EYEs can you just look at the model from below? I don't have a copy of EASE here but I think you can just press Z twice.

Hi Guillaume,

Select your Audience Area and then under the right-mouse menu, use the Insert Listener Seat Grid to insert a grid of listener seats. If you use one meter spacing for the grid, you will get a seamless map. Listener seats will map from any angle. So now you can do your mapping, selecting listener seats rather than audience areas. You'll get a map with one meter patches.
