I am following the Ease tutorial and when I get to the adding windows section, pg 78 of Advanced Modeling techniques. I can add the windows using both the displace/duplicate and extrude methods, the problem is they dont
coat to the wall surface, I followed the instructions and verified the settings
but I get the windows in the middle off the room and not on the wall.
Please help, I am trying to complete the tutorial and eventually take the Ease
classes.

thanks

Alfredo,
Just checking... in the Face properties box, did you check/tick the "is coat of" option and select the appropriate Face # to coat?

Regards

Alfredo,

Is the window face a Two-Fold Face? You can check it on the face properties. It must also be oriented correctly. It's orange side pointing towards the inside of the room.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean with "I get the windows in the middle of the room and not on the wall". Maybe you are a bit confuse regarding the coordinates?

HTH,

Hello, Yes the face is two fold. I dont know about proper orientation (it is not mentioned on the tutorial , pg 78 of Advanced Modeling techniques). How do I change the orientation? the orange side is pointing towards the outside.

Hi Alfredo,

To invert a face just select it and use the Invert Face tool or press I. It is mentioned in the Chapter 3 - Constructing a model Wink
