Fixing High ALCON levels?

I'm currently modeling an 18th century church for a new PA. The walls and floor are made of smooth "concrete," so as of right now I have a high ALCON level (AVG of 27%). Currently, the PA is one center box and another center delay. Any PA or placement suggestions to lower the ALCON level and have good coverage? Basically if you look at the top of this church it's a big L.

Get the loudspeakers closer to the listeners or use a more directional device to prevent putting excess energy into the reverberant field.
