Sweeps vs. Noise

I was deciding what stimulus signal to use for reverberation time measurements, so I made some quick measurements in the lab with different signals to compare. The result was surprising to me. The frequency responses of sweep measurements were quite different than those using noise. The difference varied with frequency up to 10 dB at the lower end. Why is this? I was using a two-way loudspeaker, which was being compensated in the measurement. Here's a picture of my frequency responses; the upper curves are the ones using noise stimuli.

Looks like you might be hitting a limiter in the amplifier. Back off the drive level of the sweeps.
