Hello,

I have a question regarding simulation of different materials. I have two materials that I would like to use for simulation, but I can't find proper information about them. One is Cellofoam R 615 / 616. It's a recycled foam basically made from PUR.
Another is Guttasilent Pb. It's two layers of reticulated polyethylene foam with lead sheet in between. I found lead as material in the Soundflow base, but I can't find reticulated polyethylene foam. Anyone did simulations with these products?
I only have material density for both products. Is it enough for reliable simulation or I need more info?

Best regards,
Danijel

Hi,
for absorber material you need at least the flow resistivity.
Some manufacturers publish those data on their web-page?

Thanks for answer, Waldemar.

Haven't found flow resistivity anywhere on the manufacturers website. Just material density. I requested additional info, but all info is about density, measured Rw curves and measured alpha absorption coefficients.
Is it possible to enter data from measured Rw curve and alpha directly in Soundflow to simulate material? My primary concern is using these materials in different sandwich panels to gain transmission loss. So, Rw is more important than alpha.

Hi Danijel,

you can change the Flow Resistivity for an Absorber to find the measured Rw of an absorber layer (may be PUR foam). Save this Absorber then as estimated materal (PUR.mat) file.
