Hallo all,
I'm completely new to EASE and still in learning phase.
My team leader ask me to learn EASE.
I'm bit frustating when trying to import my sketchup drawing based on our current project.
It's a Sketchup v7 file, whenever I tried to check data, a warn about holes always came up...I check and recheck on my sketchup, and can't found anything wrong (well..maybe it's me)...
I need help and direction please.....
here's my sketchup drawing file.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kkn3t4ce5ivx8qh/R.IBADAH-V7%20FRAME%204.skp?dl=0
Please help and thanks in advance!

Hi,

the only thing to do is, invert all faces.
In EASE the front of the Sketchup Face has to be outside the room, exactly like the default in Sketchup.
You can make this inversion for one Face in EASE (right click on it and do invert).
Let this face selected and open "Check Holes" menu (in Tools). Uncheck all but "Auto - Orientation" and execute [Close Holes].

Try the following workaround:
Export the room to a dxf file and re-import it again. Then all faces should be again visible.

Hi,

I could import the drawing just fine. Some Faces are indeed inverted and, as Waldemar explained, that´s easy to fix using the Check Holes tool. Here it was not necessary to do the Export/Import DXF procedure. Are you using the latest EASE version 4.4.8 ? If not, I recommend updating, as there are improvements in the importing engine in this version.

Kind Regards,
Pedro

Hi!
When you draw in Skp, you have to consider the following for each face: the side that faces outside the room has to be in white colour and the side that faces within the room has to be in violet colour (these are the default colours in skp).

If you draw your room with this criterion, when you import the .skp file into EASE, the outside and inside orientation of each face will be correct (in EASE, yellow is inside and white is outside). I modified your skp file and import it to EASE. You can download the files from this link:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/8e5bcbouyclw158/mixbyjm.rar

The EASE file is a ".ppj" file (packed project). To open it you have to open the Import/Export window and the go to File>Install packed project. The you save it.

My advice: keep practicing with the EASE Tutorial, it's the only way you become familiar with the program.
