Shadow Casting is not!

I am using EASEJr 4.3 and I am trying to do some mapping on multiple floors but my Direct mapping is still showing SPL on the floor that should be shadow cast from the floor above. The floor above (face) has the shadow cast box checked. I have also selected that face as a 2-fold face since it is the second floor in the venue with seats.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gary,

The Shadow Cast check mark in the Face Properties is informational, unless you click it off and choose locked, in which case the face will never cast a shadow. You can use this function if you want to draw in transondant materials like scrims or perforated screens.

To map with shadow cast you must check Shadow Cast on the fourth (Calculation) tab of the Calculation Parameters dialog when you setup the mapping.

Shadow Cast is not enabled by default as it increases calculation time, sometimes significantly, and is not necessary in many calculations.
