I am trying to import a 3D dxf from AutoCAD 2008(I tried dxf versions 2007 & 2000 with the same results)

In all cases, the room model shows only the lines that I have in teh dxf-none of the planes are shown.

I am using the default dxf import settings. i have also tried the "collect scattered faces" and assorted other things, but I am having no luck.

This is probably because the drawing uses solids or regions rather than simpler entities. Use Explode in AutoCAD to reduce these to lines. See my paper on DXF Import for more information.
