What is the proper way to name and color layers in Autocad to get the correct layers in Ease? Using the DXF Import and Export handout by Bruce doesn't seem to be working? Obviously I am missing something in the process but I cannot figure out what it is.
Do I have to assign a particular DXF Material Color table to the imported model?
Is there a specific order things need to be done?
Is there an Autocad entity that works better than others?
What is meant by default color?
I would love to use the DXF import function, which is great for model building, but I am still having a issue with assigning materials.
Frustrated yours,

Okay. I got the import Materials to work correctly.

Next question, how do I edit the Material Color Table?

David,

By now Im sure you have an answer to your question. However what I do is create a bunch of faces in EASE and asign all the materials that I will be using in a model. Then ill export the model via .dxf and open with AutoCAD. The faces will all be on one layer but the colors should be the same that will match up with the face material in EASE. So from there I just do a (match properties) and change all the objects in AutoCAD to match the same in EASE. You can customize the colors if you want I think Bruce has documented this, however I havnt looked at it in a long time.
