Run-time error '339':

Component "DWSHK36.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

===============================================

You must have just run a spyware scan with a recent version of Norton Security which (unlike previous versions of the software) we've now had reports incorrectly identifies this as a component of spyware and removes the file. It's actually a component of a normal developers tool for Visual Basic programmers called Spy Works and is used by many applications.

Here's a section of Symantec's notes from April, 2005 regarding these files:

Quote:
Creates the following legitimate files, if they are not already present on
the computer:

" * %System%\ANSMTP.dll (A dll used for mail functionality.)
" * %System%\CapScrn.ocx (A screen capture utility from AXSoft.)
" * %System%\Dwshk36.ocx (A Desaware Spyworks Hook Control component.)
" * %System%\DWSPY36.DLL (A Desaware Spyworks Hook Control component.)
" * %System%\Msinet.ocx (An ActiveX component from Microsoft.)
" * %System%\PINGX.DLL (A dll to test connections on the network.)
" * %System%\Pingx.ocx (An ActiveX component to test connections on the
network.)
" * %System%\Richtx32.ocx (An ActiveX component from Microsoft.)

"Note: These files are legitimate and may be used by other legitimate
programs. Therefore they are not detected by Symantec antivirus products."

You will need to reinstall EASE to fix the problem:

Do not use Add/Remove programs to uninstall first. Let EASE uninstall itself during reinstallation.
  1. Insert the EASE CD
  2. If AutoRun is turned on skip to step 4
  3. If the CD does not AutoRun, browse to the CD drive and start Setup.exe
  4. Select Program Only install.
  5. When prompted, uninstall the previous version of EASE.
  6. When prompted, OK to remove all shared components.

EASE will update all of its components and will keep its license.

You will need to run the EASE Update after you reinstall to get the most
recent version.
